Hello, I offer a free first meeting and many ways to cope with anxiety, depression, bereavement, low confidence, trauma, anger, self harm, relationship difficulties and various other issues that affect our emotions and mental health.

I think it’s a brave step to come to see someone and I can understand if you feel nervous about talking about difficult issues.  As an Integrative Counsellor I can provide more options than just talking; I have lots of bits and bobs in my room that we could use and plenty of space to move about or have a safe ‘vent’.  If you wish we could use creative approaches such as art, stones, bubbles and a sand tray; or we could work with the unconscious, including inner child work, drama and the bodymind connection.  Having different ways of working means that you are free to say as much (or as little) as you wish, it’s your choice.  I also believe that, even if we are dealing with really tough stuff, counselling does not always have to be serious and a shared laugh can often help the process along.

Whatever your age or issue I’m confident that I have something to offer… I’ve worked with young people (from age 8+) in schools and NHS CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) to adult clients in their 60’s at Mind (the mental health charity).  I have led groups in schools and at MIND teaching tips and strategies to make life better including Building Confidence, Assertiveness, Mindfulness, Healthy Relationships and Anger Management.

It’s important to feel safe with your counsellor and I have a private conservatory for us to use, with comfy sofas and a cat, Lola, that sometimes joins us (I can easily shut her out of the room if you prefer).
